This beautiful Central Park celebration is proof that an elopement can be just as magical as a traditional wedding ! Our photography team captured the adorable couple in the Conservatory garden as they exchanged vows on the Wisteria Pergola (a wrought-iron balcony) overlooking the Italian Garden. The Conservatory Garden located on 5th avenue and 105th street is not as well known as some of the downtown Central Park locations, but it is arguably one of the most beautiful (and less crowded) options for tying the knot in the famous park. We started with Jamie & Chris as they got ready at the New York Barclay Hotel, before heading uptown for their elopement ceremony and reception celebration afterward at Tribeca-based Italian restaurant, Gran Morsi. Their wedding day was perfect from beginning to end, check it out!
Jamie & Chris contacted our studio shortly after their engagement seeking an affordable wedding package that included an engagement shoot. Keeping with the Central Park theme, they wanted to take fun engagement photos in Central Park near Ladies Pavilion (one of the most popular elopement locations we shoot at), to prepare for their big day. Our photographer loved the natural chemistry between the two and knew their wedding photos would be beautiful as well.
On the big day we started with the couple at the Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel as they got ready. The happy Bride and her bridesmaids wore silk robes as they got their makeup and hair done. Jamie’s hair was styled in romantic waves topped with a floral crown of baby’s breath. Her dress was a classic lace ivory gown.
Chris was a few doors down with the guys. He looked picture perfect in a light grey tuxedo with navy polka dot bow tie. He enjoyed a toast with his groomsmen before heading out for Central Park to await his Bride.
The Conservatory Garden requires a permit to host wedding ceremonies there. The permit price is much higher then other locations within Central Park but well worth it for the privacy and beautiful grounds you have access to for your ceremony! One of the many benefits of this beautiful location is the space available for your guests (20 guests can easily fit on the balcony) and the Pergola is covered in beautiful greenery overlooking the manicured lawn and fountain below.
Jamie requested a touching first look with her father before the ceremony. He walked her up the steps of the balcony as a live trumpet player serenaded her. The Bride and Groom then exchanged personalized vows as their officiant (a family member) ushered them into matrimony! Afterward the newlyweds and their wedding party took photos throughout the park.
The reception was held at Gran Morsi, an Italian restaurant in Tribeca. The venue was closed down for their wedding celebration. We loved the personal touches the couple added in. They gave their guest customized can-cooler favors with their name and wedding date which was a great idea to keep the drinks cool while they were on the dance floor! Their wedding cake was beautiful and featured 3-tiers and baby’s breath. The couple also provided a box for the guests to give them date night ideas.. how fun!!
Everyone had a great time celebrating with the newlyweds and enjoying the photo booth, we were honored to be a part of it all!
